A convoy of trucks will travel north on Highway 41,
passing by Fond du Lac on
Saturday, Sept. 20.
The World's Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics Wisconsin leaves
Richfield at 9:30 a.m. It is expected to arrive in Oshkosh by 11 a.m.
Hundreds of trucks are expected to join countless law enforcement officers
as they roll up Highway 41, according to a Special Olympics press release.
The convoy, presented by the WEL Companies, Wally Tielens Memorial Fund and
Quad/Graphics, is shooting for Guinness World record-breaking participation.
The event begins at the Pioneer Travel Plaza in Richfield, with registration
from 6:30 to 8:45 a.m.
The group, escorted by Wisconsin law enforcement officers, will travel north
on Highway 41 to Oshkosh's EAA Grounds to arrive at about 11 a.m. An EAA
celebration will follow with singer Rob Anthony.
The public is invited to watch the spectacle and encouraged to view the
event from the Pioneer Travel Plaza's grass hill (park in Plaza parking lot)
or from rest stops or park and ride lots anywhere along the Highway 41
route.
To view the convoy final leg, join the crowds of Special Olympics athletes
and fans on the frontage road along Highway 41 leading to the EAA grounds.
Last year, Wisconsin's convoy raised more than $87,000 for the 10,000
athletes of Special Olympics. This Law Enforcement Torch Run® event is
Wisconsin's fourth annual event, and will take place in 35 states and six
Canadian provinces.
For more information on how to get involved, or to register a truck for the
event, visit
www.specialolympicswisconsin.org or call (800) 552-1324, ext. 222.

Honey never spoils. Rule of thumb, 1 part honey = 1.250 parts sugar. Honey holds
moisture, so cakes made with honey will be more moist. To make honey liquid
again, just put it in a warm place for awhile.![]()
